Random Post: Skyrim Nyan Cat

No, there’s absolutely no point to this post. Nyan Cat is just amazing and should be posted on every website, at least once.

Metal Gear Solid 5 confirmed by Hideo Kojima

No need for me to write how excited I am about this. I’ll let Official PlayStation Magazine tell it as it is:

Some mammoth news to end this otherwise dreary Wednesday. For the first time in the 16-year history of Official PlayStation Magazine, we’re putting a developer on the cover. Issue 65 will be fronted by Metal Gear Solid creator and gaming legend Hideo Kojima.

A fortnight ago reviews editor Joel Gregory flew to Tokyo to spend a full day shadowing the man who has repeatedly reinvented stealth action over the past two decades. Now, in his most candid ever interview, Kojima reflects on his entire body of work – and gives some almighty teases regarding life after Metal Gear.

As part of our world exclusive chat and photo shoot, he also gives his open and frank opinions on Metal Gear Solid Rising – the first PlayStation MGS he’s neither written nor directed – and openly discusses his plans for Metal Gear Solid 5 and Project Ogre for the first time.

Most startlingly of all, he explains why he’s spent the last decade trying to kill off his leading man, Solid Snake.

Take-Two will shut down NBA 2K11 servers after 13 months from launch.

No more of this online, 2K11 fans.

Obviously to boost sales, 2K Sports will be shutting down NBA 2K11‘s online servers for good only after 13 months. Why? Because NBA 2K12 wasn’t near as good as 2K11. Instead of fixing their game, they decide to force online b-ball fans to jump ship and move to the next thing. 2K10 servers were shut down after 15 months, while 2K9 servers were up for over two years. This is one of the reasons I hate, hate, HATE game companies not allowing private servers in their games. P2P play should be allowed, but whatever. They can’t force you into the next “great thing” the old way online games used to be. And for anyone thinking it’s the cost of servers, think again. On Steam (or whatever), you can buy an obsolete game called Earth 2160 and still play online. It’s old and hasn’t had people play on it for years. However, you can log-in and join their servers. Weird, huh?

Grand Theft Auto V first trailer proves theories of Las Angeles-style area

A week ago, Rockstar’s website flashed a banner showing the Grand Theft Auto V logo. The world went on instant hype-train.

Today, Rockstar has put out the first teaser trailer for GTA V today, revealing very little in terms of when or gameplay. However, we do know (99.9% sure, at least) that the game will be in the state of San Andreas. If you don’t believe me, watch it for yourself.
